Cedar Falls High School Bands

Last updated April 13, 2014.

The kids gave great performances at Solo & Ensemble Festival.  While the schedule did not allow Mr. Engelhardt and me to attend every CF band event, we were able to attend several, and it was so enjoyable to hear them.  This was the culmination of some very focused work on the part of the students, their piano accompanists, and many teachers.

Here is a brief synopsis of yesterday's ratings.

  1. 51 events received the Division I "Superior" rating.  Of these, 14 were perfect scores, and 14 were only missing 1 point.

  2. 14 events received the Division II "Excellent" rating.

  3. 1 event received the Division III "Good" rating.

Two CF band events received the Outstanding Performance Award from their centers.

  1. Center 5:  Erik Cheng, bassoon solo

  2. Center 9:  Kyler Boss, snare drum solo
